Sechelt Seniors -- Thank you for filling out the survey. |

Sechelt Residents 50+ Survey 2009.
Looking around, it’s easy to see that seniors are drawn to Sechelt. Here’s what the most recent census tells us:
In 2006, one in seven Canadians (13.7%) was a senior (65+), close to the rate in British Columbia (14.6%).
In Sechelt, one in four residents (25.3%) was 65 or older in 2006.
Another one in four Sechelt residents is a mid-life adult between 50 and 64 years of age.
Thus half of Sechelt's current residents are age 50 or better, making us one of the oldest communities in BC and Canada.
This survey is aimed at that 50% of all Sechelt residents who are currently age 50 and over. From the information you provide, a working partnership of governments, agencies, service providers and seniors groups will learn what’s most important to you, the mid-life adults and seniors of Sechelt. Please take the time—perhaps 15-20 minutes—to answer as fully as you can. Your responses are confidential, and your privacy protected. The results of the survey will be reported back to the community.

The project received a $7,000 grant under the Age-friendly Community Planning program of the Seniors' Housing & Support Initiative (funded by the Province of British Columbia). | |
